According to the analysis released by American Institute for Cancer Research, there are about 100,500 new cancer cases caused by obesity every year.
Different types of cancer that are linked to excess body fat: breast cancer with 33,000 cases a year, endometrial cancer with 20,700 cases a year, kidney cancer with 13,900 cases, pancreas cancer with 11,900 cases, esophagus cancer with 5,800 cases and gallbladder cancer with 2,000 cases.
Michael Thun, emeritus vice president of epidemiological research at the American Cancer Society says that the list of cancers affected by obesity increase as more research is completed.
There are several other types of cancers which have been linked to obesity such as liver cncer, leukemia and multiple myeloma, but this needs confirmation.
