Diagnosis of Uterine Cancer

Your physician will want to do a pelvic exams if they think you are at risk for uterine cancer. They will ask for all of your medical information. If you have the dreaded disease then your physician will run some other test such as an ultrasound.

He or she may even want to do a biopsy so that they can examine some tissue from your uterine lining. There are four stages of uterine cancer and it is best if caught in Stage 1. Sometimes these exams and biopsies are harder to do if a person is obese.

Eating the Right Diet

Since obesity is a major risk factor for uterine cancer, it just makes sense to start an eating plan and stick with it. If you lose the weight then you will not be at such a risk for uterine cancer. You should make your meal plans low in fat and keep it high in antioxidants.

If you could get your body down to its proper weight then your risk for uterine cancer would greatly decrease. A good eating plan should include all types of fruits and vegetables. Fish, because of its Omega 3 fatty acid is good for you, and should be a staple in your diet.

Remember to eat low salt products. To get antioxidants into your body you could eat a piece of dark chocolate or have yourself a glass of wine or tea. That cup of coffee that you drink at breakfast time will also give you antioxidants. You will also want to exercise along with your eating plan.

Treatment

There are different treatment options when it comes to uterine cancer. Your physician may want to perform surgery, or have you take a series of Chemotherapy or radiation treatments. A hysterectomy is a good way to get rid of the cancer so it will not have a chance for it to return.

They will suggest this as a solution in Stage1 of uterine cancer. It is likely that you will go through two treatments at one time to fight uterine cancer. For example, you may have surgery and then your physician will want you to have radiation treatments also just to be on the safe side.

Fighting this type of cancer, even if you are obese, is a fight that you can win.
