“Super Sensor” To Detect Cancers

super sensorA recent research of TAU ( TEL AVIV University) develops  tiny super device that can easily sniffs out diseases like cancer, heart attacks and also environmental pollution.

Coupling biological materials with an electrode-based device, Prof. Judith Rishpon of TAU’s Department of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology is able to quickly and precisely detect cancerous cells, pathogens and pollution in the environment.

“The super sensor is capable of detecting various substances and it really depends up on what you put at end of the device,” says Prof. Rishpon.

Clinical trails are going on currently to develop its applications in cancer diagnostics, focusing on the detection of cancerous cells and proteins responsible for colon and brain cancer and also efficacy of anticancer drugs.
