Obesity Is A Major Cause Of Cancer

In a research study into the causes for cancer, experts have discovered a definite connection between obesity and several types of cancer, notably cancer of the uterus, oesophagus and gall bladder cancer, as well as other types of cancer.

The major problem today lies in the difficulty in losing weight, in a society that is a continual enticement to weight gain. There are too many unhealthy products with high calorie content, which are available to all. In addition exercise is no longer a principal activity in people’s daily routines.

Obesity must be kept under control in order to reduce the probability of cancer in men and women. The consumption of fatty foods and red meat will also increase the chances of cancer in people, whether they are overweight or not.

Being within a healthy weight range is not, unfortunately sufficient to reduce the risk of cancer, a combination of a specific hormone treatment together with a radiation therapy is needed in order to increase the survival rate of patients suffering from specific cancer types, such as prostate [prostate cancer and radiation therapy] or breast cancer.

The research proved that patients with combined treatments doubled their chances of survival as opposed to those who only took regular hormone drugs.

This combined treatment is now a standard procedure in the U.S. owing to the positive results it has given, and although there are common side effects such as diarrhoea amongst others, these are not too unendurable for the patients.
